2015 Mounts ‘Old Vine’ Zinfandel, Estate Grown
Robust red and black fruit character, plum jam, cracked pepper, hints of black ink. Luscious and full bodied.
Head-trained vines averaging 50 years old.
Whole berry destemming, 4 - 5 day cold soak, punch downs 3 times per day. Native yeast fermentation in small open top, one ton fermenters. Total skin contact 15 days. Barrel aged 17 months in 45% new French oak.
